The Learning Enrichment Centre is an initiative designed to enhance service between faculty and identified students. Identified students are those who have qualified academically for admission to the school and have been identified as needing support the following area(s):
- Executive Functioning Skills
- Receptive Language
- Meta Cognition
- Expressive Language
- Self Advocacy
- Accessing Post-Secondary Support
The Learning Enrichment Centre staff assists with the delivery of curriculum to identified students by developing support and services to reflect the unique needs of each student and may include individual counseling, team meetings, and workshops to support skills in relevant areas.
Communication with parents of identified students is essential to sharing important information that can maximize student success and create a better understanding of individual student learning. Consistent, mutually understood and supported planning provides the clearest pathway to success for students facing challenges.
Individual student profiles outlining student strengths, needs and strategies for success will be available to faculty member to allow proactive and informed planning in the classroom. Additional information and service can be tailored to specific professional development needs and classroom realities through one-on-one meetings, team meetings and larger workshops.
