The Eugene Melnyk Sports Field runs diagonally in the north-east corner of the campus. The facility includes a 400 metre rubberized track, a regulation size football field, a large outdoor play area and a seating capacity for 1000 spectators. In the summer of 2004, Eugene Melnyk ’77 donated $1.8 million to St. Michael’s to upgrade the field with new state-of-the-art artificial grass, stadium lights, sound system, and an electronic scoreboard. During the winter months, one-third of the field is covered with a winterized dome, allowing for an indoor, artificial-grass playing field.
Our gymnasium is located at the north-east end of the main school building, adjacent to the arena. The facility includes a 10,000 square foot double gymnasium. It is accessible through the athletic corridor in the basement of the school, or through the exterior doors at the north-east corner of the main school building. The bleachers, when open, are accessible through the first floor balcony that runs parallel with the school cafeteria and have a seating capacity of 500.
The fitness facility is located on the north side of campus, in the athletic corridor near the gymnasium. It is equipped with a variety of strength and conditioning equipment. The facility is available for student use during and after school hours.
Gym hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
