Basil Bowl Hockey - SMCS vs. DCC

Posted: February 2, 2017

Basil Bowl Brotherhood between Basilian high schools has found the opportunity to rejoice in “the good ole hockey game." On January 13 and 14, the Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks travelled to Toronto to play the St. Michael's Majors and both teams treated students, parents, and Basilian Fathers to terrific hockey, playing a game on each day and winning a game apiece.

Coming to appreciate each other's skills and talents was further enhanced by Shamrocks and Majors as they joined in prayer together at the Eucharist and further enjoyed each other's company while enjoying a fine dinner that was prepared and served by the St. Mike's kitchen staff.

Basilian students and Basilian Fathers alike in both schools are hoping and looking forward to this brotherly exchange of slap shots and body checks taking on the reputation of an annual cross-border tradition of “the best game you can name," because the unity and exhilaration of brothers growing up and facing off in goodness, discipline, and knowledge cannot be contained by borders or boundaries of any kind.
