St. Michael’s College School is committed to keeping students, staff, parents, and visitors safe while on campus. This involves preventing and reducing both individual and community exposure to or spread of infectious diseases like the coronavirus.
Take a look at some of the new health and safety features we are setting up ahead of September 2020.
Faculty and staff will be provided with face masks and face shields. Students will be provided with two SMCS washable face masks. Additional masks are available for purchase through the Mporium.

Thermal cameras located at the student entrance, north entrance, and cafeteria. They can take a thousand temperatures in 90 seconds. If anyone comes in with a temperature above a limit that we set, administration will receive an e‐mail instantly with a picture of the individual.

Every classroom, the library, and the cafeteria will have an air purifier unit. These units are used in emergency rooms in hospitals.
150 touchless hand sanitizing units are located around the school (in classrooms, hallways, entrances, offices, cafeteria, etc.).
Every teacher will receive an utraviolet light for sterilizing their tablet and immediate desk area.

10 touchless water bottle refill stations are located around the school.

The Alumni Room has been temporarily converted into an extra hand washing area. Each station features touchless faucets and soap dispensers. In addition, the old wash stations in the two main boys bathrooms have been replaced with 12 separate wash basins, all touchless.

Each classroom is set up with a TV, Logitech camera, microphone, and speakers to easily connect with students learning at home. Remote learners will be able to see and talk to teachers and in-class learners at all times.
