Alumni Information Series
During the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Michael’s College School in partnership with the Alumni Association restructured the bi-annual Alumni Networking event into the new Alumni Information Series.
The goal is to provide alumni with interesting and relevant topics that help them stay informed and offer an opportunity to remain connected online.
The inaugural event, held on May 19, 2020, answered many questions regarding the well-being of students and how they were learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This Zoom session was hosted by Alumni President, John P. O'Neill '86 and SMCS Principal, Jamie McKinnon. They discussed St. Michael's College School's Adaptation to a Virtual World and concluded with a question and answer period.
How To Be An Entrepreneur During A Pandemic, the second Alumni Information Series, was hosted by SMCS Alumni Association’s Event Coordinator, Ron Scarafile '05 and took place on June 23, 2020. Nick Di Donato '76, OSM, John P. O'Neill '86, and Michael McCarthy '88 shared their COVID-19 experiences as entrepreneurs and provided advice on how to be leaders in their industries. Participating alumni connected with the panelists for future mentorship and career advice.
The third session, How To Stay Relevant During a Pandemic, was held on Wednesday, August 26. Jason Annibale '93, Martin Fox '02, and Matt Montemurro '05 provided insight on the future of the business world. The panelists gave tips on how to prepare for a job search and online interview and how to build an online presence. Fox provided career advice content from Robert-Walters.
