Architectural science is a popular university choice for many St. Michael's College School students, and this year 15 Grade 11 and 12s had the opportunity to learn more about the industry from a unique and hands on perspective.
NORR, an international architectural firm based in Toronto, invited SMCS students to spend a day at their offices and partake in a tour highlighting some of their current projects.
Norr's vision is 'to create a new standard for design; one that comprehensively addresses the complex requirements of building owners and users through a partnership of professionals. Their multi-disciplined approach provides a unique perspective with which to integrate design and technology in s team-based discovery process.
Throughout the day, students learned about different architectural styles, by delving into information on some of the projects that NORR has been involved with.
Students were given tours through three of NORR's current projects in Toronto, St. Michael's Hospital, Union Station, and Hotel X.
