St. Michael's Remembers

On Friday, November 11, St. Michael’s College School students, faculty, and staff, gathered to remember and honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice by serving our country.

To commemorate this special day, faculty and students shared poems, prayers, and gave thanks to our Canadian Veterans and fallen soldiers. Canadian Army (Primary Reserve) Infantry Officer, and SMCS alumni Frank Lamie ’98, addressed St. Mike’s, and emphasized the honour that comes with serving one’s country, even to the point of making the ultimate sacrifice.

The ceremony concluded with a playing of the Last Post, and a moment of silence, which was followed by Grade 12 students processing to the front of the stage to place their poppies in a decorative cross which now resides on the lawn by the Bathurst Street entrance of the school.

On behalf of St. Michael’s College School, we thank those who served for our country, and remember those who have died in the line of duty.
