YPI, the Youth Philanthropy Initiative, was an opportunity for this year's Grade 10 students to step out into our community and learn about the different social issues people are facing by selecting local charities to research, visit, and advocate for, as part of a presentation delivered in their classroom.
YPI is an inclusive, multi-award-winning secondary school programme that grows compassionate communities by connecting youth to social issues, local charities, and philanthropy at a pivotal stage in their adolescence.
Through their efforts, our winning team, Giuseppe Carriero, Lejeu Leon, Francis Mainella, and Paul Wayland proved they have set an example to each other and won the YPI grant of $5,000. ($2,500 YPI matched by St. Michael's College School) for their charity, St. Clare of Assisi Street Patrol. Congratulations.
