Multiple, weekly, after-school and weekend practice sessions, set design and construction, and all kinds of preparation are typically well underway at this time of year in the Music, Theatre Arts, and Drumline programmes at St. Michael’s College School (SMCS).
The Spring Musical, a SMCS tradition for over 70 years, showcases the vast musical, technical, and acting talents of our students as well as female students from neighbouring schools.
Prior to the pandemic, St. Michael's College School students showcase their talents at music concerts that take place during the school year in the winter and spring.
This academic year, the music programme has shifted in a myriad of ways because of the global pandemic.
In addition to seasonal concerts, our student bands and choir perform at school events including liturgical ceremonies, welcome events for new families, Homecoming, athletic and community events, among others. Some bands also compete in regional and provincial competitions.
