Annual Golf Tournament
On Monday, June 24, 2019, the St. Michael’s College School Community gathered for the Annual Golf Tournament presented by AGAWA Fund Management Inc.
The tournament welcomed 140 participants to the beautiful Cedar Brae Golf Couse in Scarborough for a great day on and off the course.
For the second year, golfers had the opportunity to have members of the SMCS golf team take their first shot on two par three holes. Thank you to student golfers Ben Rochen ’19, Jake King ’22, and Jack Dickinson ’22.
New this year, we offered a unique opportunity to two of our guests. Two SMCS Grade 7 students had the opportunity to play with current Toronto Maple Leafs forward and St. Michael’s Buzzers alumnus Connor Brown and his Dad, Dan, the current Majors varsity hockey coach. The tournament also welcomed back Hockey Hall of Famer Frank Mahovlich ’56.
The golf tournament continues to play a significant role in raising money for the school’s bursary programme. This year, approximately $25,000 was raised and will directly support deserving students who have qualified for the bursary programme. Since 2002, St. Michael’s has awarded approximately $22.28 million in bursary assistance to a total of 2,146 students.
